What is The Moon?
The Moon is an intimate martini bar and seasonal, borderless restaurant in historic Gastown, with two distinct rooms under one roof. A place to land, and to return to.
The Dining Room is for dinner: seasonal, borderless plates from Chef Felix, served at tables or at the chef’s counter facing the fully open kitchen.
Moon Bar is for martinis and more: a contemporary take on the martini bar, with bar and lounge seating, snacks and desserts.
Both rooms pour the same drinks list. The full menu is served in the Dining Room only.
When are you open?
Dining Room: Thursday to Sunday, 5pm to 10:30pm.
Moon Bar: Thursday and Sunday, 5pm to 1am. Friday and Saturday, 5pm to 2am.
Where are you, and where should I park?
59 Powell Street, Gastown, Vancouver. Street parking and several paid lots are nearby, and Waterfront Station is a short walk away.
Is The Moon accessible?
Yes. There are no stairs, and our entrance, walkways and washrooms are accessible.
Are children welcome?
Young guests are welcome in the Dining Room. Please note our rooms are small, without space for strollers and no children’s menu, high chairs or booster seats, so we’d recommend it for older children. In Moon Bar, guests under 19 can’t be seated at the bar.
Is there a dress code?
No formal dress code. We recommend smart casual.
Reservations
How do I book?
Reservations for our opening Friday October 23 through end of November will launch to our mailing list before the public. From then on you will be able to book through OpenTable.
What can I book?
Dining Room: a table, or a seat at the chef’s counter facing the open kitchen.
Moon Bar: bar and lounge seating, assigned on arrival.
Do you take walk-ins?
Yes. Reservations are recommended, but we keep seats in both rooms for walk-ins.
How long is my reservation?
Dining Room:
Up to 2 guests: 1 hr 45 min
Up to 4 guests: 2 hr
Up to 6 guests: 2 hr 30 min
7 or more guests: 3 hr
Moon Bar:
Up to 2 guests: 1 hr 15 min
Up to 4 guests: 1 hr 30 min

DINING ROOM
How does dinner work?
Order à la carte, dish by dish, or let Chef Felix guide the meal. Both are available at the chef's counter and at our tables.
What kind of food is it?
Seasonal and borderless. Familiar dishes drawn from memory and travel, each with an unexpected departure. Inspired by winery tasting rooms, our dishes are small by design, so you can try several and order your favourites again. The menu changes with the seasons as fresh ingredients come in. Like the best memories, a dish you loved may not be there next time, so enjoy it in the moment.
Can you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions?
Yes. Our menu is small, so please let us know when you book, with as much notice as possible, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
Do you offer drink pairings?
Yes. Our team can match drinks to your meal, from wine and sake to cocktails and spirit-free drinks.

Can I have a drink at Moon Bar before or after dinner?
Before dinner, come a little early and we’ll do our best to seat you at Moon Bar. If it’s full, Gastown has plenty of great spots for a drink nearby. If you’re keen to have a nightcap, let your server know when you arrive, and we’ll do our best to find you a seat after dinner if one’s available
What can I eat at Moon Bar?
Moon Bar serves snacks and desserts from The Moon’s kitchen, from opening until last call. For the full menu, book a table in the Dining Room.
DRINKS
What do you pour?
The same drinks list in both rooms: martinis, from classics made to order to rotating variations, plus original and spirit-free cocktails. A wine list focused on small, organic producers, alongside sake, beer and tea.
Can I bring my own wine?
Yes. Corkage is $50 per bottle, up to two 750ml bottles per table.
Private events and gift cards
Can I book a private event?
Yes. We offer full buyouts for both standing events and seated dinners. Every event is built around your group, with a custom menu from Chef Felix and a drinks program to match. Email hello@themoonyvr.com to start.
Do you sell gift cards?
